ALWAYS THERE

Always There
By: Tom Luce and Guy Jaquier

I was oh so lonely, until I saw your smile. You make my dreams come true. Please stay with me a while.
You warned me not to love you. You warned me not to care. You said you could not promise, you always will be there. You always will be there.

Chorus
And I held your hand through all the crying.
And I held your hand through all the pain.
And I watched you never give up trying.
I’ll never be the same.

Ooh, I fell for you anyway. I couldn’t help myself. You said, “I am not fragile. Don’t put me on a shelf”.
And I was so afraid. Our love shouldn’t be a dare. You said you could not promise, you always will be there. You always will be there.

Chorus

Now I just sit and wonder. Was it all worth the pain, to fall in love with someone who’s fighting for their life?
And now I can see your face, at night and in my dreams. And I can rest and know that, you always will be there. You always will be there.

Chorus

And I held your hand through all the crying.
And I held your hand through all the pain.
And I watched you never give up trying.
I’ll never be the same. I will never be the same.
Ooh, I will never be the same. Always.
You will be always there. Yeah.
Always, always, you’ll always be there.
At night, in my dreams…..

AT LEAST YOU CAN BE MY LAST

At Least You Can Be My Last
By Guy Jaquier

Believe me darling. My love is true.
The three best things to do outdoors are hunting, fishing and you.
But what went wrong? You got off of my hook.
I really must be, as dumb as I look.

Chorus
Done is done. My past is in my past.
Okay, you weren’t my first, but at least you can be my last.
Done is done. My past is in my past.
Okay you weren’t my first, but at least you can be my last.

Oh, hey darling, now please don’t walk away.
I’m sure I can think of, some pretty things to say.
Our love was strong. Don’t know where it went.
Been in this doghouse so long, my hound wants to charge me rent.

Chorus

The grass ain’t greener, on that other side.
Just sit here next to me, and we’ll go for another ride.
Least I’m honest. What you see is what you get.
I never could imagine, you’ld be so damn upset.

Chorus

BIRDS OF A FEATHER

Birds Of A Feather
By: Guy Jaquier & Tom Luce

Heading south to Nashville, guitar by my side.
You really burned me up with your jalapeño eyes.
We were going to get hitched, til you cut me like a knife.
Now I’m just stuck here on the mud flaps of your life.
Until the day you left me, I never really knew
That bourbon in the morning, could be a breakfast food.

Chorus
If birds of a feather stick together, why won’t you flock with me?
I said, if birds of a feather stick together, why won’t you flock
with me?

We used to live up north in a cabin by the lake.
But winter without you, is more than I can take.
So I got Jesus on my dash board. Prayin ain’t my crutch.
We ride south together, and he don’t talk too much.
So you can keep that old cabin. Growing bitter and so cold.
Just try not to miss me when you are getting old.

Chorus

BOOM MAN

Boom Man
By Guy Jaquier

It’s a long day in the sky. Driving real hard.
Four hours to the site. Flyboys just want to rock.
Tanks are getting low. Keep me in the green.
Man on the radio says I got the need for speed.

Chorus
So boom man, hook me up. You gotta get me to the fight.
Pump me up, top me off. Refueling in flight.
So boom man, hook me up. You gotta get me to the fight.
Pump me up, top me off. Refueling in flight.

Mission was success. We’re heading back to home.
Too long on the job and the tank’s dry as a bone.
I got no reason to worry. I got no reason to care.
Cause help is on the way. We got KCs in the air.

Chorus
So boom man, hook me up. You gotta get me home from the fight.
Pump me up, top me off. Refueling in flight.
So boom man, hook me up. You gotta get me home from the fight.
Pump me up, top me off. Refueling in flight.

Outro
Please Mister Boom Man. You gotta hook me up. Please Mister Boom Man. You gotta hook me up in flight. Mister Boom Man. You gotta get me home, Mister Boom Man.

BOTTLE-FULL HALF WAY

Bottle: Full Half Way
By: Guy Jaquier

The last days he was living,
As he lay there in his bed,
The doctor offered another pills,
The priest suggested prayer.

The old man’s eyes grew bright,
As suddenly he awoke.
He lifted his hand to the sky,
And these are the words he spoke.

Chorus

He said bury me with a fifth of rye.
But only full half way.
Drink your toasts to my great life,
But leave some for St Peter’s gate.

Cause when I reach my judgement day,
With heaven in my grasp.
I know I’ll find some friends up there,
And share with them a glass.

Don’t bother with expensive stuff,
Or spend money for no reason.
Cause if God is good and God is great,
There’ll be no hangover in heaven.

Don’t lower me into the ground,
With tears running down your face.
Lift a toast to my long life,
Don’t cry, celebrate!

Chorus

Strike the band and dance all night.
And maybe fall in love.
Think about the luck you’ll have,
With me watching from above.

Go to bed someone dear.
But only if she’s your wife,
Have a “roll in the hay”,
And maybe start a life.

If your luck is strong that night,
And God smiles down on you.
Name your new son after me,
And I’ll help that child too.

So keep your pills and keep your prayers.
You’ll need them more than me.
I’m on my way to a better life,
Of which you cannot see.

Chorus

CAIPIRINHA (Featuring Carly Jaquier)

Caipirinha
By Guy Jaquier (Featuring Carly Jaquier)

Long look across the table. Moonlight along the shore.
Sweet kiss like caipirinha. Two hearts both wanting more.

Slow dancing into the night. Soft touch across my skin.
Sweet kiss like caipirinha. This love can’t be a sin.

Chorus

I’ve had some nights like this before. I’ve known a few.
But no one else makes me burn like you do.
It only took one look before I knew.
Sweet kiss like caipirinha. All my dreams come true.

Long look across the table. Slight smile upon my face.
Sweet kiss like caipirinha. Hand in hand we leave this place.
Short walk across the courtyard. Cool breeze across my skin.
Sweet kiss like caipirinha. This love can’t be a sin.

Chorus

DOIN' WHAT I'M DOIN'

Doin’ What I’m Doin’
By Guy Jaquier

I got a handful of excuses. I got a pocket full of blues.
I got my sources with no uses. Since I lost you.
Now my train’s got no caboose. And I’m on the wrong track.
Nothing left to lose. Cause you ain’t coming back.

Chorus
You might think my life is so bad.
But this is the best time I ever had.
You might think my life is in ruin.
But I’m just sittin’ here doin’ what I’m doin’. Doin’ what I’m doin’.

I got no place to go. No one I gotta see.
Like an arrow without a bow. No place I gotta be.
Like a car with a flat. Stuck here by the road.
And you ain’t coming back. But I ain’t carrying no heavy load.

Chorus

Now this scene is never changing. And this movie never ends.
But I ain’t rearranging. Cause these demons are my friends.
My life went up in smoke. And a black cat crossed my path.
But my eyes are seeing clearer. Cause I got whiskey in my glass.

Chorus

GET HOME TO YOU (Featuring Jackson Rohm)

Get Home To You
By Guy Jaquier

Lonely old bar. Another low paying gig.
Everyone’s gone. I got this broken down rig.
Night in the desert. West Texas moon.
Stuck in Fort Stockton trying to get home to you.
Stuck in Fort Stockton trying to get home to you.
Miles from Austin trying to get home to you.
Get home to you.

Blacktop and dust storms. Dry brush and roadkill.
Playing to truckers and drifters, ain’t much of a thrill.
Night in the desert. Feeling lonely and blue.
Stuck in Fort Stockton trying to get home to you.
Stuck in Fort Stockton under this West Texas moon.
300 miles from Austin trying to get home to you.
Get home to you.

Bridge

I’ve worn these tires bald on every stretch of road.
From Oklahoma to the Gulf of Mexico.
Forever haunted by, that West Texas moon.
From beer halls to road house bars, to honky tonk saloons.
But I’m stranded here. On this lonesome road.

Stuck in Fort Stockton trying to get home to you.
Miles from Austin under this West Texas moon.
Nights in the desert trying to get home to you.
Get home to you.

It ain’t always paradise but it’s the only life I ever knew.
I won’t close these weary eyes until I’m lying next to you.
Swear to God I ain’t going to lose this battle, if I gotta steal a horse and saddle.
To get home to you. Get home to you.

GOTTA LOVE THE HAIGHT

Gotta Love The Haight
By Guy Jaquier

I love these streets but they don’t know my name.
Sidewalks come alive. No corners are the same.
People pass me by. Nothing they can say.
Cold fog fills the sky. Wash the dirt, wash the dirt away.

Chorus
That’s why, you gotta love the Haight…repeat

Tourists off the bus can’t believe what they see.
Old hippies from the past stuck in the 60s.
Cool gays hand in hand. New shops open now.
Protesters take a stand. Two cops watch the peaceful crowd.

Chorus

I’m walking late at night.
Kids hanging out under the street lights.
Sweet music played for tips. Smoke smell fills the air.
Old man on a psycho trip. No one notice. No one seems to care.

Chorus

HERE COMES THE SUN

Here Comes the Sun
By Guy Jaquier

Bottoms up. Hey, bottoms up boys.
The sun’s coming up.
Chorus
One more drink, One more drink. Ya, one more drink,
And I gotta go home/Cause here comes the sun.

It’s been fun. But I gotta run boys.
But here comes the sun.
Chorus
Little darling, it’s been a long cold lonely winter.
Little darling, I wish you were near me.
Little darling, it’s been a long cold lonely winter.
Is this too early to call?

Hey I loved last night’s show. But it’s time to go.
That sun’s moving slow.
Chorus

HOLDING ON

Holding On
by Steve Mansfield & Guy Jaquier

Got your name off your coffee cup.
“Hey low fat decaf, what’s up?” You said:
“Is that your motorcycle?” I replied,
“Here’s my helmut let’s go for a ride”.

Chorus
You were holding on, holding on, holding on,
Holding on, holding on. You would not let go.

That time your water broke at 3am.
No Uber cars then.
The yellow cab got a flat.
There you were lying in the back.

Chorus

Bridge

One more kid and two dogs later, life sure moved fast.
Scrolling through our photos, so much now is past.
Now up the road ahead, how do we get through?
No magic potion, no helmut I can give you.
Waiting for those test results my arms wrapped around you.

Final Chorus

I am holding on, holding on, holding on,
Holding on, holding on. I will never let you go.

I WON'T GO QUIETLY

I Won’t Go Quietly
By Guy Jaquier

Hoodie and a hand gun. I can feel the steel.
An angel’s breath says “You ain’t from around here”.
You look away. Am I out of sight? No….
I won’t go quietly, into the night.
I won’t go quietly, into the night.

I dropped like a rock. On to your streets.
Cold wind blowing through the boneyard of my dreams.
My tent’s on the sidewalk. What’s the meaning of life?
I won’t go quietly, into the night.
I won’t go quietly, into the night.

Chorus:
You hear the noise. You see the light.
And what you do next, could save your life.
I won’t go quietly, into the night.
I won’t go quietly, into the night.

Hoodie and a hand gun. I can feel the steel.
The devil cracks a smile. The end is near.
You look away. Am I out of sight? No….
I won’t go quietly, into the night.
I won’t go quietly, into the night.

Under the freeway, to get out of the rain.
Searching for truth? A needle ends the pain.
The whole world knows, that it just ain’t right, but
I won’t go quietly, into the night.
I won’t go quietly, into the night.

Chorus

I won’t go quietly, into the night.
I won’t go quietly, into the night.

IT WAS A COUGAR ATTACK

It Was A Cougar Attack!
By: Guy Jaquier

It was a cougar attack!
The stealthy huntress snuck up from the back.
Under dark of night, often in packs.
It was a cougar attack.
It was a cougar attack.

One night Jimmy was far, far from his home.
Getting late, he was out there alone.
Once in her claws, he was shred right to the bone.
Poor young Jimmy was far, far from his home.
Far, far from his home.

It was a cougar attack!
The stealthy huntress snuck up from the back.
Poor young kid didn’t recognize the tracks.
It was a cougar attack.
It was a cougar attack.

His mother warned, bad things come out at night.
Eyes play tricks, in the fading light.
Way too late, he just knew it was not right.
Bad things come out at night.
Bad things come out at night.

Poor young Jimmy was down at the bar.
Innocent lad, he just turned 24.
The stealthy huntress moved in for the score.
Back at her lair, she just left him on the floor.
Back at her lair, she just left him on the floor.

It was a cougar attack! It was a cougar attack! It was a cougar attack! And Jimmy ain’t coming back.

MAGDALENE

Magdalene
By Guy Jaquier

In the year of 1843 on a blustery English autumn day.
A ship sailed forth from Bristol Bay. It was headed round the cape.
The ship was named the Magdalene with able captain and able men.
But if they had known the future then, they never would have gone.
The ship was headed for the far off east, with silk and spices and wealth to reap.
To bring them back to the British Isles, and make the traders smile.
But somewhere off the African coast, as the story’s often told by most,
The seas did swell and the winds did howl, and knocked the ship around.

Chorus
Oh, oh, the winds doth blow. Captain, Captain don’t you know
The water’s rising it’s time to go. The Magdalene is lost…repeat

The Captain ordered the ship secured but rigging did break, a sail unfurled.
A boom crashed down upon the deck. A sailor lost his life.
And all the while the Captain stood with tearing canvas and splintering wood.
Shouting curses at the sky, they didn’t do no good.

Chorus

The ship went down with all its crew, except for those surviving few.
Who floated round on ship’s debris at the mercy of the sea.
A passing vessel quite by chance, it new the story at one glance.
Except for those surviving few, the Magdalene was lost.

Chorus

MAMA BUST OUT YOUR ROSARY BEADS

“Mama Bust Out Your Rosary Beads”
By Guy Jaquier
Midnight hour, under the moon.
Swing with the devil, trouble find you soon.
She was looking good, she was acting bad.
Swears she’s an angel, but she’s wearing black.
Chorus
Mama bust out your rosary beads.
Cause the devil danced into my heart and brought me to my knees. The devil danced into my heart and dropped me to my knees.
Moves like a demon. Loves pedal steel and fiddle.
Flashing that smile, and her “Hey Diddle Diddle”.
Skin tight jeans, she’s just showing off.
Don’t ask for that song, if you don’t know the cost.
Chorus
Two step or swig step. It don’t really matter.
All eyes are on her. Dance floor getting hotter.
Guitars are playing. Smoke rings fill the air.
She throws her hair back. Doesn’t seem to care, about me.
Chorus

MILE MARKER NINE

Mile Marker Nine
By: Guy Jaquier

Mandolin music, in the desert makes me smile.
You play your heart out, each and every time.
I’ll bring the blanket, and you can bring some wine.
Behind the red rocks, near mile marker nine.

Yes I’ll be there, by a quarter past 5.
We’ll watch the sun set, beneath the western sky.
Come on darling, let’s dance into the night.
Behind the red rocks, near mile marker nine.
Chorus
Won’t you meet me. Won’t you meet me.
Please won’t you meet me. Near mile marker nine.

The moon fades away, with the new morning sky.
I see the dawn, reflected in your eyes.
Mandolin music, in the morning makes me cry.
Behind the red rocks, near mile marker nine.
Chorus

MONEY WILL BUY ME A BEER

Money Will Buy Me A Beer
By Guy Jaquier

Money won’t buy me love or bring you back to me.
Money won’t buy me joy or give me all I need.

Chorus
But money, money will buy me a beer
And barkeep, I’ll take another right here.
Yes money, money will buy me a beer.
And barkeep, pour a cold one right here.

Money won’t make me smart or fill me full of wit.
Money won’t make me tall. This is as big as I get.

Chorus

Money won’t buy me grace or get me through God’s gate.
Money won’t change my luck and money won’t change my fate.

Chorus

MY BABY LOVES THE RAIN

My Baby Loves the Rain
By Guy Jaquier

My baby loves the rain. Looking out that window pane.
Smiles when she sees grey. Ya my baby loves the rain.
Stay indoors making love all day. Hoping that those clouds won’t break.
Stay indoors making love all day. My baby loves the rain.

Chorus
My baby loves the rain. My baby loves the rain, rain, rain, rain.
My baby loves the rain. Got that love falling down on me.

My baby loves the rain. Smiles and starts to play.
April showers bring love til May. Ya my baby loves the rain.
Stay indoors making love all day. I can’t leave, can’t walk away.
Stay indoors making love all day. My baby loves the rain.

Chorus
My baby loves the rain. My baby loves the rain, rain, rain, rain.
My baby loves the rain. Got that love falling down on me.

Outro
Cause my baby loves the rain, rain, rain. Got that love falling down on me. Cause my baby loves the rain, rain, rain. Hoping it will rain, hoping it will rain, hoping it will rain. Hoping it will rain, rain, rain. Hoping it will rain, hoping it will rain. Hoping it will rain. Hoping it will rain, rain, rain. Got that love falling down on me. Got that love falling down on me. Got that love falling down on me. Got that love falling down on me. Cause my baby loves the rain. Cause my baby loves the rain. My baby loves the rain. My baby loves the rain, rain, rain.

PICKUP TRUCK AND A DREAM

Pickup Truck and a Dream
By Guy Jaquier

You can watch the news at night. Listen to them holler and fight.
Seems we’re on the wrong path.
You can watch the welfare line. Some are hurting, some are fine.
Seems our way of life won’t last.

Chorus
A man can change the world with a pickup truck and a dream.
One day at a time.
A man can change the world with a pickup truck and a dream.
Carry that load down the line. Carry that load down the line.

Preacher says that when Jesus died, he carried his cross with tears in his eyes.
Sacrifice for our love.
Preacher says that modern man carries on the best he can,
With some help from above.

Chorus

Bridge
See him up with the early dawn. Put his boots and his jacket on.
Go to work to earn his pay. Make this world a better place.

Chorus

PLUTO AIN'T A PLANET ANYMORE

Pluto Ain’t a Planet Anymore
By: Guy Jaquier

Busted but unbroken.
Scars on the hands that hold you.
Words yet unspoken.
Like “I love you”. Like “I love you”.

Ain’t no heroes anymore.
No one rides to the rescue.
Like John Wayne busting through the door.
To save you. To save you.
Chorus
Gone are the days of old.
Things ain’t like they were before.
The world’s spinning out of control.
And Pluto ain’t a planet anymore. And Pluto ain’t a planet anymore.

Flawed but unfazed.
These two arms to hold you.
The whole world can’t be saved.
But “I love you”. Oh how I love you.
Chorus

RUN ACROSS THAT BRIDGE

Run Across That Bridge
By Tom Luce and Guy Jaquier

See her shadow, in the fading summer moon.
Don’t know what you have, til it’s what you have to lose
Echoes drift, across the dark divide.
Memories of her strength, last time you saw her cry.

Chorus
Run across that bridge, where she is waiting.
Never gonna get there, til you start.
Catch that shadow, in the moonlight.
Run into her open arms.

Feel you will lose her, as she turns to walk away.
Fight the fear, that holds you in this place.
You were blinded, taken sideways.
For a moment, taken sideways.

Chorus…Bridge

Hear her voice, as it floats across the wind.
Feel her pain, hear “I need you” from her lips.
Can you be the strength she needs now?
Run into her open arms.

SIX FEET OF CLAY

SIX FEET OF CLAY
By Guy Jaquier

Truck stop on the journey, of another long ride.
Just getting by, on his music and a smile.
Kicked to the curb, like an empty pack of smokes.
Lines on his face, like a weathered old oak.
Playing country songs, until there came the day.
When he traded his old six string, for a new pine box…..and 6 feet of clay.
Six feet of clay.

He came to our town, on a cold winter night.
Warmed himself at Tommy’s Grill, beneath the neon lights.
Said he’d sing our favorites, for some whiskey over ice.
Ended with some Johnny Cash and, made old man Marquis cry.
Slept in a back room, until the break of day.
When he traded his old six string, for a new pine box….and 6 feet of clay.
Six feet of clay.

Padre won’t you say, a prayer for his soul.
Let the church bells ring, for this troubadour of old.
Though we never knew him, until he sang that night.
The Lord came for him, in the morning light.
The Lord came for him, in the morning light.

Now the lonely troubadour, rests up on the hill.
No one ever learned his name, I guess we never will.
All the same, he’s now part of our town.
One great night at Tommy’s Grill, now he’s one of our own.
Playing country songs, until there came that day.
When he traded his old six string, for a new pine box….and 6 feet of clay.
Six feet of clay.

SOMETHING MUST BE WRONG

Something Must Be Wrong!
By: Guy Jaquier

Itunes, You Tube, Sirius…and all that stuff.
Selling lots of my music, but I can’t make enough.
To feed my family, without going on the road.
With $29 million dollars paid to that CEO.
Chorus
Who’s music is it anyway? Who wrote that song?
Who’s that playing guitar? Something must be wrong!
Something must be wrong!

All the music bloggers, say they like my stuff.
Mantle full of Indie trophies, can’t never get enough.
But I still can’t feed my family, without going on the road.
With $29 million dollars paid to that CEO.
Chorus
Fans all say they love me, from Paris to Red Bluff.
Listen to all my tunes, they can’t get enough.
Sending me emails: “When am I going on the road?”
Just give me part of, what’s paid to the CEO.
Chorus
Who’s music is it anyway? Who sang that song?
Point 9 cents per play. Something must be wrong!
Something must be wrong! Something must be wrong!
$29 million dollars, paid to that CEO. Hey dude, gonna buy a ticket to my show?
I can’t feed my family, without going on the road.
With $29 million paid to that CEO.

THEY ALL SAID SHE SHOT HIM DEAD

They All Said She Shot Him Dead
By Guy Jaquier

They all said, she shot him dead.
Three times in the chest, and one time in the head.
They all said, she shot him dead.
The ring cut off his finger, as he slowly bled.

CHORUS
Sure she had a motive. He always made her cry.
Witness heard them argue. One said it was a fight.
Sure she had a motive. He never did her right.
Some say he deserved, what happened on that night.

They all said, she shot him dead.
Insurance in her name, would take her out of debt.
They all said, she shot him dead.
Fingerprints confirmed, what others might allege.

CHORUS.
Sure she had a motive. He always made her cry.
She had stayed for years. People wondered why.
Sure she had a motive. He never did her right.
Some say he deserved, what happened on that night.

They all said.. Footprints showed she crept.
While others calmly slept. One shot in the head.

They all said, she shot him dead.
The foreman had the verdict, He looked at her and read.
They all said, she shot him dead.
As she walked out of the courthouse. And went back home to bed.

TO BE COUNTRY

To Be Country
By Guy Jaquier & Clint Whitney

You don’t need them Skoll rings on your jeans or wear a ball cap on your head.
You don’t need your boots in dirt that’s red,
To be country. To be country.
You don’t need to fight on Friday nights or have a cold one in your hand.
You don’t need to drink til you can’t stand,
To be country. To be country.

Chorus
All you need is to fear the Lord. Stand up straight and keep your word.
Stick together when things get hard,
To be country.

You don’t need to drive a pickup truck or love the sound of passing trains.
You don’t need to have 2 first names,
To be country. To be country.

Chorus
All you need is to weather the storm and to love your family.
Help your neighbor and do him no harm,
To be country.
All you need is to be true. Work a job until it’s through.
Protect the red, white and blue,
To be country.
Protect the red, white and blue,
To be country.

WAS THAT YOU? (Featuring Whitney Nichole)

Was That You?
By Patsy Phelan and Guy Jaquier

I still remember Daddy’s hand,
As I placed a rose upon your grave.
Daddy wiped my tears away. And said,
“We’ll see her again one day.” Again one day.

Chorus
I know you didn’t mean to leave,
But after all this time I grieve.
You tried and tried to stay.
I know you couldn’t change that day. Change that day.

Was that you Mama, the day my fever rose?
Were you riding there with me, when I drove out of control?
Did you sit beside me when I nailed my freshman test?
Was that you Mama? I know you’ll never rest. Never rest.

Chorus

Was that you Mama, the day I said, “I do”?
When my baby girl arrived, I named her after you.
Born on your birthday. Now I see that we are blessed.
Was that you Mama?. I know you’ll never rest. Never rest. Never rest.
Was that you?

WE GUARDS STOOD OUR WATCH

We Guards Stood Our Watch
By: Stephen Covell and Guy Jaquier

We guards stood our watch, as the jester smiles and bows.
Why do we jump in the breach, when others just lay down?
Like a wind across the dunes, the lords they blowing hot air.
Why do we jump in the breach, when we see that they don’t care.
They don’t care.
CHORUS
A crisply folded flag. The sum of all our fears. This is what we get, while they laugh and cheer.
Thunder cracks the sky. The ladies smile and dance.
Why do we jump in the breach, while others chase romance?
Some are lost forever. Still the Royal Band plays on.
Why do we jump in the breach, so they get one more song?
One more song.

The band grows louder, under rockets’ red glare.
The crowd lost in the glamour. Victory is the air.
And the lords droned on, but none seem to care.
That we’re not there. That we’re not there.

We guards stood our watch, as the jester smiles and bows.
Why do we jump in the breach, when others just lay down?

WINTER OF MY SOUL

Winter of My Soul
By Guy Jaquier

Early summer. Down by the lake.
Your smile that told me. This poor boy’s heart you would take.

Midsummer night, under the moon.
Your kiss that told me. We’d come so far since June.
Chorus
Life was so easy then. Everything just right.
As long as I could hold you, in my arms at night.

Then came the fall, and with it came the rain.
You took my heart, and left me with this pain.

And now it is the winter. The winter of my soul.
You’re off with another man, wearing his ring of gold.
Chorus
Life was so easy then. Now nothing seems right.
Cause I can’t hold you, in my arms at night.
